Reflection
-
Take your time: Take your time to read, reflect, and think about the chapter or paragraph thouroughly that matters you the most. Remember we’re not in a race.
-
Question & Engage with the material: As you read, ask yourself questions like: “What is the main argument?” “What are the author’s assumptions?” “How does this relate to my own experiences or perspectives?”
-
Evaluate: Practice what you learn. Apply the concepts and techniques you’re learning to real-life situations. This will help solidify your understanding and make it more to your personal experience.
-
Action: See if you can apply it in your life somewhere, a small effort for change.
The most important thing is to enjoy the process. If you’re unable to read more of it that’s okay, may be its not for you. Its better to move on rather than having the compulsion to “finish” the book. I tend to highlight some of the parts in a paragraph, indexing it rather to come back to it later.
